The World Bank asks the question What if women and men had the SAME access to jobs, schooling, financing and land? Is this truly defined and further,is it just access that is the issue?
There is a general tendency to look at symptoms and not causes. This leads to diversion and at times stranded efforts and resources.
Although not everyone’s “cup of tea”, society needs to come to terms with the fact that respect for females as fellow humans is a first step. This needs to be followed up by removing gender as a niche for jobs thus smashing the glass wall / ceiling.
