Life as we know it is quickly changing in ways that just months ago ago was unimaginable. For sustainability of our energy needs going forward it is obvious that we need energy systems that require little or no imported fuels. The lockdown impacts have shown that there is a need for urgent and critical systems to be supplied by local means.
Such local means can easily be brought about in the Namibian context by solar systems such as CSP and PV along with locally produced hydrogen backed up with the requisite energy storage systems.
